Hi! I’m Shanin.
Mom & Blogger
I'm a stay-at-home mom of four, wife of one, and two-year cancer survivor. This blog began in a notebook with ideas jotted down about 3 years ago. Then the pandemic happened, and just when we were getting back to normal, I was diagnosed with cancer. Life is now full of a large “to-do” list of items that had to be put off while I focused on my health. It can be easy to procrastinate when you are not feeling your best. I have found tackling the worst item on my list allows the rest of my day to be less anxious. Hence, the blog name was inspired by Mark Twain. I’m always trying to check my daily frog off my list as early in my day as possible.

I'm outgoing and outspoken. I am an open book when it comes to my kids and my parenting choices. Just ask me. My oldest son has ADHD and sensory issues. I have spent a lot of time analyzing therapies for him and having conversations with parents of similar kids. He is our super smart swimmer and gamer. My oldest is a performer at heart and wise beyond her years. She loves all things Broadway and is a talented percussionist. My younger son is an amazing artist with a heart of gold. He designed the logo you see on my page. My youngest is our sporty and sassy caboose. Any of my hair that did not turn gray from the boys' toddler years, she is determined to finish off.
I’ve often been told, "you should write a book." Maybe I will tackle that when I am an empty nester. For now, I opted for a blog. You’ll find stories and tips from my mom life and any other thought that pops into my head to write about. Be ready for TV comedy references. I can go down that rabbit hole very quickly and watching TV is my ultimate guilty pleasure!

Everyone has a different story and what works for me, might not fit your family. I'm not here to judge and I hope you have come here with the same open mind. This is a place for faith, family, and fun! So...here we go...3 years in the making, and I am beyond grateful to have the chance to share with you. Enjoy!
